We are pleased to provide a final update regarding the recent series of parcel thefts affecting residential buildings in the area of Castlefield. Background: Over recent weeks, multiple incidents of theft were reported from communal mail areas within secured apartment blocks, including Potato Wharf, Goodwin, and Wilson buildings. These events understandably caused concern among residents and property managers. Investigation & Arrest: Following a thorough investigation led by the Castlefield Neighbourhood Policing Team (NBO), PC Riaz, and the Neighbourhood Crime Team (NCT), a male suspect was identified and arrested. He was subsequently charged with four counts of burglary. Court Outcome: The offender appeared in court this past weekend and was found guilty on all four counts. The court ordered the following penalties: • Payment of a victim surcharge • Reimbursement of costs to the Crown Prosecution Service • Completion of 160 hours of unpaid community service Community Reassurance: We commend the swift and coordinated efforts of local officers, building managers, and residents whose collaboration was instrumental in resolving this case.
